"Dakor, the detective magician, world-renowned for this exploits, deals only with unusual crimes, and his fees are high.  But his name is enough to strike terror into the hearts of criminals the world over."


Dakor the Magician was a detective for hire, charging high fees to solve crimes with his magic.   He had an office staffed by his secretary, Williams, who conducted his business for him.


Dakor's magic manifested in numerous way, from transforming objects to hypnotism.

The following is his first appearance in Mystic Comics # 1.

Yarko the Great was a stage magician with real magical powers.  Traveling all over the world, he fought crime and injustice, as well as supernatural menaces, wherever he went.  Yarko performed magic with gestures as well as spells (sometimes backward) but his power resided primarily in his eyes.  When his eyes were covered, he was powerless.

Yarko appeared in Wonder Comics # 2, Wonderworld Comics # 3-33, Blue Beetle # 1 and Samson # 4-5.

Here is his first appearance in Wonder Comics # 2.

Mantor the Magician

Mantor the Magician made only one appearance, that being in Human Torch Comics # 2.  In that adventure, Mantor saved an heiress, Joan Winters,  from committing suicide.  The castle she had inherited from her recently deceased father was haunted, although Mantor discovered the "ghosts" were really the castle servants, trying to obtain the hidden treasure.  Mantor saved Joan from the "ghosts" and helped her discover a chest of gold hidden in the castle.


Mantor used magical gestures to work his magic.  Some examples of how he used his powers are:

• Made objects appear from nowhere or disappear.
• Moved objects, similar to telekinesis.
• Manifested a copy of himself.
• Shot fire from his eyes and fingertips
• Changed objects from one thing to another, similar to transmutation.
